“Rua” is the Irish word for red—evoking the warm, natural tone of a fox’s fur or red hair.

While Rua Dental isn’t a standalone clinic, I offer treatments across two established dental practices: one in Christchurch City and the other in North Canterbury. I am a general dentist, having earned my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University College Cork, Ireland, in 2010. Since graduating, my career has taken me across the globe — from practicing in Australia and the Torres Strait Islands to several years in the North East of England, where I worked in an oral surgery and facial trauma centre. In 2017, I relocated to New Zealand, initially settling in Wellington before making Christchurch my home in 2021.

I am a member of the New Zealand Society for Sedation in Dentistry (NZSSD) and the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD)

I take a calm and compassionate approach to dentistry, aiming to create a comfortable environment for every patient. I have a special interest in intravenous sedation for those who feel anxious about dental treatment, and I also provide facial aesthetic treatments, with a focus on bioregeneration to support natural collagen production and enhance the skin’s vitality.

In dentistry, my particular areas of interest are surgical extractions, wisdom tooth removal, advanced IV sedation and single visit crowns.

In addition to dental care, I offer facial aesthetic treatments with a focus on bioregeneration. As we age, our skin naturally loses collagen, leading to visible signs of aging. Bioregenerative treatments work by stimulating the body’s own collagen production, helping to restore firmness, improve skin texture, and enhance natural beauty from within.
